Autumn Lush Haul

p1060555What would October be without a Halloween-inspired Lush haul? I get SO excited when this time of year comes around, largely down to the rather appealing treats of bath products that Lush release. If you’re anything like me and love a Lush bath, check out last year’s post here.

As for this year’s contenders, I steered away from my old favourite, Sparkly Pumpkin, opting to test out some of the newbies.

First up is the bath bomb, Autumn Leaf.

“Autumn colours dapple your bath red and yellow, as falling leaves signify the start of winter. From the comfort of a hot bath, watch as the evenings draw in, and the trees don vibrant plumage. The scent of fresh grass evokes the crunch of crisp leaves underfoot as the last remnants of summer are stolen away.”

This bath bomb is beautifully fresh; scents of bergamot oil keep it zingy while the sandalwood gives a delicate musk. It’s currently keeping my bathroom smelling wonderfully autumnal, so much so I don’t want to use it just yet!

First of the two Halloween treats is a luxurious bath melt, Boo.

“Leave your unfinished business at the door as calming mimosa and earthy, warming ginger coax you into the bubbly water. Your bath is this meringue-shaped ghost’s favourite haunt; just pop under the running water to ensure your ghostess offers the mostess. Fair Trade, organic cocoa butter may melt away but the effects are clear: skin feels softer and grounding sandalwood combines with vivid Sicilian mandarin oil to make you feel spooktacular. Boo might look adorable, but it takes relaxing the spirits dead seriously.”

How cute is this teeny-tiny ghost?! Bath melts are ideal when I’m needing to relax more than most pamper nights, as just like Boo, the scents are immensely relaxing, but Boo has a subtle hint of ginger to keep it stimulating. This one contains cocoa butter and mandarin oil to help soften my skin after a fresh exfoliation.

Finally, this year’s orange pumpkin goodness in bath bomb form; Pumpkin.

“Serve yourself up a slab of sweet pumpkin pie, dripping in spice and sauciness – it’s even more satisfying in bath bomb form. Sweet, comforting vanilla absolute and spicy cinammon evoke the rich, biscuity fragrance of home-baking and stacked desserts, ensuring that you feel toasty from top to toe. A soak with this pumpkin-shaped bomb is more satisfying than a belly full of pudding.”

Now on first impressions, I wouldn’t say this is too pumpkin pie-esque. Not to say I’ve ever tried pumpkin pie, though I find this to resemble more the scent of orange and cinnamon cloves, which may be a let down for some, but of all of the products in this haul this one has to be my favourite. For me, cinnamon epitomises the scent of autumn, while it’s not too overpowering in this Jack-o-Lantern-resembling bath bomb. The scent may change as it’s put to the test, but for now I’m really enjoying it.

So that’s the next month or so sorted for autumnal bath treats! If you’ve purchased any of the products mentioned, or have any recommendations, let me know below…
