Let’s Talk Lippies… Ft. NYX Lip Lingerie

I’ve been dying to write a lippy post for a while now, so if this feels like a bit of a mish-mash then please bare with me! If there’s anything I seem to write about most, it’s lip products. So I’m combining some favored lip liners and a couple of new lipstick additions to make this one big lippy special. Lets see if we can count how many times the word lip is mentioned….

img_3110So first up; lip liners. My trusty Barry M Lip Pencil in Russet is probably one of the easiest lip liners to apply. Its soft nib and creamy consistency means that it’s easy to glide along the lines of my lips without having to be super precise. It has enough moisture to wear the colour all over, but I love combining this liner with MAC’s Taupe, which I raved about in my March Favourites; they are pretty much a perfect match for each other.

For a more precise, matte finish, NYX’s Retractable Lip Liner in Nude does the trick. It claims to be waterproof, and while I can’t admit that’s true, it does stick a lot better than Barry M’s, and that seems to be down to the consistency. Although it feels drier, it’s not drying at all. It still glides well enough to make application pretty simple. Plus, you can’t go wrong with a nude.

Now, for a product that’s gradually getting every KylieJennerLipKitFan happy that they can get their hands on instead… The NYX Lip Lingerie Lipsticks. Even though the trooper that is my sister put herself on a waiting list at Boots for these lippies, I truly feel that they are worth it. Although I can’t say I’ve tried the Kylie Jenner kits to compare, I know I would have 1000000% adored these, Kylie dupe or not. The reason? I love the formula. It applies as a liquid, and dries matte – my fave.  There’s not much worry about it rubbing off, which my boyfriend was pleased about when I wore the purpley-shade Embellishment for my birthday meal last week. (He normally loves a moan about casually wearing my lippy after a quick peck.) It does tend to wear off slightly in the middle after a bit of eating and drinking, so a top up is needed. Both Embellishment and Honeymoon have a purple undertone, so I’d be intrigued to see some of the warmer shades from the Lingerie collection. But to say which of the two I have that I prefer would be far too difficult!

You could always order online from Boots then get them delivered to your local store? It’s just a gamble when it comes to shades I guess! X
