Autumn Fashion Staples

P1060443Autumn has always been my favourite season when it comes to fashion, as I love layering up and getting more creative with my outfits. Faux fur and cosy knits; what’s not to love? I’ve updated my wardrobe with a few new transitional pieces.

I find it impossible to get through the cooler months each year without a new coat; it’s such a staple item and I think it’s good to reinvest in when it gets worn so often. This one I picked up however, wasn’t so much an investment, but more of a steal at just £30! Yes, it’s a Primark number, of which I know there’s a 99% chance I’ll see it on someone else, but hey, it’s a lovely coat that will see me through the autumn nicely. It’s camel, a shade I was looking out for, it’s structured (which makes my outfits slightly more tailored), and it has a removable fur collar… bonus. If I get 30 wears out of this, that’s a pound a wear. Bargain.

Another piece of tailoring that I find crucial to a capsule wardrobe is a white shirt. This twist on the simple white shirt is from In The Style, with a skater style skirt and dipped hem. I like to belt this when I’m wearing it with faux leather leggings, or wear it alone as a dress with some cosy knit tights and boots.

Speaking of faux leather, I desperately needed a new pair of faux leather trousers as my favourite pair had become far too big for me. These River Island Black Skinny Leather Look Trousers are my go to bottoms during the cooler months, teamed with a pair of black ankle boots. They go with everything, are super comfy and super flattering. I also love the gold details.

Finally, the transitional item that I picked up at the end of summer were these beauties from Public Desire; I already have a a pair of open toe ankle boots in black that saw a lot of love last year, and I had to add to my adoration for camel by getting these fringed faux suede ones. They’re comfy enough for a few hours (at least), and add that something extra to any outfit. They probably won’t be weather appropriate for winter, but will definitely be getting more wear throughout autumn.

So these are my new additions to my autumn wardrobe! What staples will you be wearing this season?
