I’m always on the look out for budget foundations that are long lasting for work day to day, and this summer’s base has come from the Rimmel stand; the 25HR Lasting Finish Nude Foundation. If you didn’t already know (like me), this bottle has the white lid as opposed to the original Lasting Finish with a red lid. I’d read a couple of rave reviews about the new ‘nude’ version, and since I loved Rimmel’s Wake Me Up Foundation I thought I’d give it a go.
On first impressions, the bottle is sleek and (yay!) it has a pump applicator. The foundation itself has a fresh fragrance that’s neither overpowering nor hard to love. On the skin, it blends well and sets nicely. A light to medium coverage that is definitely buildable, this foundation still lets my freckles come through whilst lightly covering imperfections. Albeit I use plenty of concealer on my spots/dark circles, but the combination works well without my skin feeling cakey. The finish is satin; perfect for the summer as it gives enough glow without looking sweaty.
For me, this foundation is potentially a go-to all year, as I love dewy skin with a touch of powder on any oily bits. I do find however that its ’25 hour’ claims are a bit far fetched; I get a good 7 or 8 hours out of it with a powder touch up in between. That’s not bad for a £7.99 foundation though, right? It does tend to wear off on my forehead like all foundations, as that’s where my skin is its oiliest.
The promise of a ‘barely there feel’ isn’t a total farce either; the foundation doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the skin, but you know when you’re wearing makeup!
I definitely rate this budget foundation. Although I’ll be going back to my old faithful L’Oreal’s True Match for the colder months, I’m pretty sure I’ll be keeping a bottle of this aside for next year.
Have you tried out Rimmel’s 25HR Lasting Finish Nude Foundation?
Hey 🙂
Oh, that seems like such a good foundation! Rimmel, in general, has great foundations, or so I’ve heard. (as I can’t find the right shade for the life of me…)
I have the 25h Lasting Finish Powder Foundation and it works really well, both as a setting powder and as a foundaiton. 🙂
Lovely post!
Have a nice day. 🙂

Hi! I don’t think any of the Rimmel foundations match me perfectly, L’Oreal is a winner for me in that sense, so I know how you feel! X
