My 5 Fave Lippies Right Now

P1110010Now we are fully into our so-called summer (yes I’m looking outside and it’s raining as I type this), my dark berry red lippies are nicely tucked away.

Instead I’m pulling out my favourite pastels and brights, with a nude or two added for good measure.

Here’s 5 I can’t get enough of right now….

First up is Maybelline’s Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in In With Coral. I absolutely love these lip pencils! If you didn’t already know, I’m always in favour of a matte finish, and they get extra points for their precise application. They’re so easy to use, simply draw the colour on like a crayon, and sharpen like a pencil when you need to. There’s nothing fancy about the packaging, but what more could you ask for £4.99? The pinky coral colour is perfect for when you want something a little bright, but not too bold.

Next is my go-to for a ‘your lips but better’ shade; I often find myself reaching for this when I don’t want anything too fussy. Bourjois’ Rouge Edition Velvet in Happy Nude Year is a pretty pinky nude with a matte finish that still gives your lips plenty of moisture. I think I love these just as much as the Maybelline Lip Pencils.

Onto an old fave; No. 7’s Stay Perfect Lipstick in Gay Geranium. I showed my love for this back in 2013 after a summer of wearing it non-stop and once again it’s back! Read my mini-review of it here. If you like luxurious lippies with good staying power, No 7 do just that.

Now this one is probably my favourite colour fit into a lipstick tube. A matte orangey peach, Topshop Lips in Ohh La La starts off light and subtle with the potential to build up into a really bold hue. I like wearing both. I’m a huge fan of Topshop lipsticks and wish I had more in my collection!

Finally, the all-year rounder; MAC’s Velvet Teddy. This lipstick has had enough hype over the past year that there’s not a lot more I can say about it. If I’m going for a smokey eye, I can’t be without this gorgeous browney-nude.
