A lazy sunday has got me in the mood to write something a little different from the usual fashion and beauty posts, and it’s all about my favourite season. I’m one of those weirdos that hates the hot weather and loves the cold; why? Have a read below…
Hot drinks – It doesn’t feel like autumn until I’ve wrapped my cold hands around a Pumpkin Spiced Latte from Starbucks; they’re so delicious! I converted to Caffe Nero this summer so I can’t wait to find out what autumnal drink they have to offer. The cold weather also gives me more reason to make a nice hot chocolate before bed.
Halloween – Whilst I’m a little bit too old for trick or treating, Halloween has become my favourite day of the year to dress up and go on a night out! I’ve already got my thinking cap on for costume ideas; last year I dressed up as a corpse bride, 2012 I was a Carrie-esque zombie prom queen and 2011 I did zombie nurse. I’m wanting to do something a little different this year but still stay with the ‘scary’ theme. I love the effort everyone puts into their outfits, I especially did while I was at uni. It also gives me a reason to watch Hocus Pocus, (which I used to be so frightened of when I was little) and plenty of horror films! (PS. If you hadn’t noticed way above, there’s a Lush Halloween review coming soon…)
Bonfire Night – Now I’m not as fussed as I was when I was younger, as I absolutely loved playing with sparklers, but I still like to cosy up in front of a fire (be it inside or outside) and watch the pretty fireworks.
Fashion gets more fun – As soon as summer was ending I knew I had to give my wardrobe a shuffle, and it included finding a lot of my favourite Autumn/Winter pieces. I absolutely love layering. From oversized jumpers to cosy tights, and from faux fur to my favourite pair of boots, this season makes outfits so much more fun to play around with. My next fashion post is going to be all about gilets; my ultimate autumn fashion essential. So keep an eye out for that!
Lazy weekends are more acceptable – When it gets colder, there’s nothing I love more than cosying up in one of my onesies, putting on my fluffy socks and lighting my favourite candles. Rainy days = duvet days, and duvet days = movie/box set days.
