One of my favourite things to watch on YouTube – the What’s In My Bag post; I’m not entirely sure why I (along with many others girls) like to have a nosey in to what other people have in there, but I find it a very interesting watch.
As I’m not very experienced in front of the camera I decided to change this up and make it into a written post.
In my bag; apart from the essentials, (chewing gum, Cath Kidston Purse, New Look sunglasses & my ASOS Rail Card holder), I firstly carry with me a comb. Yes, not very exciting, but for when my hair’s looking flat it’s great for a quick back comb. Makeup-wise I take my Real Techniques Buffing Brush in case my foundation has slipped and I can quickly smooth it out. My other face products include the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer; this comes with two shades, one lighter to brighten under the eyes and one darker for any blemishes. It also comes with a blotting powder which is great to keep any shine at bay. I carry my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Gold Deposit to give my skin a glow and a bit of colour if it needs it, and apply it with The Body Shop Bronzing Brush.
For my eyes I’ll take the Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner; I usually don’t carry this with me as it’s such a great eyeliner it will last me all day, however today I’ve been wearing false eyelashes and it can sometimes rub off. That also leads me to my DUO Adhesive; the best eyelash glue EVER, and I have to keep this with me incase of an eyelash emergency!
As far as lips go, I’ll take a lip balm, today’s choice was the N-Spa Juicy Lip Butter in Coconut (available at ASDA), and I also wore the Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm in Audacious.
Oh, and my lilac satchel is from ASOS. I got this for my birthday last year & it’s still on the website!
Along with my own, I thought I’d share what’s in a couple of other girl’s bags who are also on a student budget – they showed me their handbag beauty essentials…
Naomi, 21, studying Journalism at Sheffield Hallam Univeristy, explains her beauty essentials:
“I always carry these two products in my handbag; the Rimmel London ScandalEyes Precision Micro Eye Liner , which stays on all day and its also waterproof, and my favourite foundation at the minute which is the Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions Liquid Makeup, as I suffer from spots and it’s really helping to combat them.
I also bought a new nail polish today and it’s from the Rita Ora Collection by Rimmel, it’s in ‘Pillow Talk’; a pastel blue shade and I absolutely love it.”
Bella, 20, studying Performing Arts at Sheffield Hallam University, explains her beauty essentials:
“I carry with me the Maybelline Brow Drama to give my eyebrows colour and it also fills them in while still looking natural. I thought it would be a good idea to bring this with me as I had my eyebrows threaded so I could top them up after they had been done. I’ve got Vaseline Paint the Town Red Lip Tint as it gives my lips a hint of colour while still giving them moisture, and for a 2 in 1 product it’s really cheap. I also have the Bourjois Little Round Pot Intense Eyeshadow in 03, it’s a bright and sparkly eyeshadow in a peachy pink colour, and Bourjois is one of my favourite makeup brands.
Lastly I have the Kelly Brook Nail Polish (available in New Look) in a taupe/brown colour, it’s a classic shade yet always on trend for every season, and was only around £2.99.
